Just Us Dance Theatre is a Hip Hop dance theatre company founded by Artistic Director Joseph
Toonga. We run Hip Hop specific artist development programmes, providing opportunities for artists
and young people from Black and ethnic minority and lower socioeconomic communities.
Established in 2007 the company recently became an Arts Council England National Portfolio
Organisation (NPO) cementing our work in supporting and developing the UK Hip Hop dance theatre
scene.
It is with great pleasure that Just Us Dance Theatre announce the following recent appointments:
Nadia Gardner has a background in Hip Hop Theatre having been a principal dancer with Boy Blue
Entertainment for 15 years, alongside her training in Business Administration and Psychology. Nadia
is a Business Analyst working in the public and private sector on information technology solutions
and healthcare services. She has also started her Doctorate journey as a Counselling Psychologist,
focusing her research on embodiment and the person-centred approach, with a view to continue
this work within the arts in a wider form.
Hazel Singleton has over 20 years experience of working in the dance sector, both with independent
artists and companies. Hazel joins Just Us as Executive Producer after working with a variety of
creative arts companies on consultancy projects over the last 18 months. Previous to this, Hazel was
Administrative Director at Studio Wayne McGregor where she worked for a large part of her career
across a range of company management responsibilities.
Oluwatosin Omotosho is a professional dance artist, actor and choreographer with over 10 years
experience within the dance and creative sector. She also has a background in project and grant
management within the charity and NGO sector. Over the years, she has worked with companies
such as Runway House, Boy Blue Entertainment, Uchenna Dance, Body of Jazz Theatre, Sadlers
Wells, Rematch Live, The Place & Trinity Laban and most recently worked with Just Us as Rehearsal
Assistant for their performance at the Royal Opera House as part of Black History Month.

Just Us Dance Theatre Foregrounds Hip Hop. We bring together, support and up-skill young dancers
and early career artists from different backgrounds in East London and internationally, striving to
overcome the geographical, economic, and social barriers that prevent people from taking part in
arts activities.

growth and develop Hip Hop, improving the quality of partnerships and the UK dance sector.
